We are very pleased to announce that due to our exclusive partnership agreement with Y-Internet, we can now offer Wifi solutions for communities all along the Costa del Sol.
Many communities have had Y-Internet systems up and running for quite some time and feedback has been very positive indeed.
Using cutting edge wireless technology, Y-Internet can provide every resident in your Community with broadband Internet access without the need for landline installations.
Connection to the network can be made in a number of different ways and pricing plans are available to suit nearly every type of owner, visitor, guest or holiday maker.
No cost to the Community
All transmission equipment is provided, installed and maintained by
Y-Internet without any cost to the community.
Individual access to the Wifi signal is available to residents for any time period — from a single day to a whole year — making the system ideal for both permanent residents as well as those people who only spend a limited amount of time in Spain each year.
The only expense that would be incurred by the community is the electrical costs of running the Community Access Point equipment, which equates to approximately €50 per year for each installed Access Point.
How can residents connect?
Depending on the location and number of Community Access Points installed, each community member can connect to the Access Points in one of the following ways:
- Single Device
For users who only wish to connect a single PC, laptop or Wifi enabled device and are close enough to a Community Access Point.
- USB Booster
For users who only want to connect a single device at a time, but are NOT close enough to a Community Access Point, a USB WiFi booster is required to increase signal strength. The cost of a high performance WiFi USB booster is €60 + IVA.
- Residential installation
Where a user wants to be able to connect more than one device at a time and/or from anywhere within their home, a residential installation is required (this type of installation is also required where connection is not possible as per option 1 or 2 above). This type of system comprises of a sender/receiver module installed on the client's premises which links to a 4-port wireless router within the property, allowing for connection of as many devices as required on a private encrypted network. The cost of the residential installation is €175 + IVA.
Internet access pricing options
We have a number of Internet usage options available, specifically tailored for owners, residents and holiday makers alike:
- Full time residents
Can pay monthly by Direct Debit at a cost of €29 + IVA per month for our basic service. Other packages are also available and will vary in price depending on the speed of the connection required. This plan based on a 12 month minimum contract.
- Part time residents
For owners who only reside in the Community for a certain part of the year, we can provide an account which is usable for a twelve month continuous period with a total data allowance capped at 30 Gb. This is available for a one off yearly fee of only €150 + IVA.
- Pay-as-you-go
For those owners who are only visiting the community a short period of time and do not wish to use either option 1 or 2, connection to our network is available and can be paid for a fixed time period. Clients would simply open an account at our offices and then choose a pay-as-you-go package: (1 week: €24 + IVA | 2 weeks: €36 + IVA | 1 month €48 + IVA).
- Holidaymakers
Can buy a scratch card from our offices for either one hour, one day, three days, one week, two weeks or one month.
